Federation Structure

How motorsport is organised in Pakistan — every driver races under a club, every club under an association, every association under a federation. Based on the Rally Federation of Pakistan Rule Book v2.0.

The Chain of Sanction

1

Federation

The Rally Federation of Pakistan (TRF)

The national governing body. Publishes the rule book, appoints the Jury for every race, sanctions events and keeps the national driver register. Its Federal Committee decides classes and rule amendments.

2

Association

Regional / provincial motorsport associations

Regional bodies under the federation that coordinate clubs in their province, align event calendars and forward driver registrations up to the federation.

3

Club

Toyota Highway 4x4 Club · National Motorsports · Xtreme Motorsports

The host club organises the race on the ground — registration desk, technical inspection, marshals and hospitality. JMDC is hosted by Toyota Highway 4x4 Club; the Thar Desert Challenge by National Motorsports.

4

Driver

Registered competitor with valid licence + NIC

Every driver and co-driver must be 18+, hold a valid driving licence and be registered with the federation through the prescribed form before the start of the race.

5

Race Vehicle

Registered car with class, CC and preparing garage on record

Each car is registered with its registration number, make, model year, fuel type, engine capacity, turbo status, tyres and the garage that prepared it — then verified at technical inspection.

Driver Registration Process

The exact process used at federation events — taken from the JMDC and Thar Desert Challenge registration forms and the TRF rule book.

01
STEP 01

Driver & Co-Driver Registration

Submit the prescribed form in block letters: full name, age, address, cell number, driving licence number with expiry, NIC number, and whether you have driven a national rally before.

02
STEP 02

Race Vehicle Registration

Register the car itself: registration number, make, model year, diesel or petrol, class entered (Professional / Production), colour, engine capacity, turbo status, front and rear tyres — and the garage the car is prepared by.

03
STEP 03

Technical Inspection

The Technical Steward physically verifies the car against the federation checklist before it is allowed to race. Only the Technical Steward or Race Director can disqualify on technical grounds.

04
STEP 04

Release & Liability Waiver

Driver and co-driver both sign the release and waiver of liability acknowledging the risks of motorsport — no signature, no start.

05
STEP 05

Mandatory Drivers' Meeting

Attendance is compulsory; missing it costs a 1-second penalty on your overall qualifying time. Starting order for qualifying is decided here.

06
STEP 06

Qualifying & Race Day

A single-stage qualifying round sets the Stage 1 launch sequence. On race day cars are released individually at timed intervals; every car carries a Time Card stamped in and out of every stage.

Technical Inspection Checklist

Every item is physically checked by the Technical Committee before a car may start.

  • Front seat belts (two)
  • First-aid kit
  • Working odometer
  • Roll cage (6-point, min. 6 floor plates)
  • Working horn
  • Battery bracket
  • Spare wheel
  • Helmets (two)
  • Mud flaps
  • Emergency food & water
  • Wheel spanner & jack
  • Fire extinguisher

Roll cages must be 6-point with a minimum of 6 floor plates and at least one door bar per side. Tube sizes scale with vehicle weight — from 1.5" × 2.6 mm for under-2000 lbs cars up to 2.0" × 2.6 mm for 5000 lbs+ trucks.

Race Officials

Every sanctioned event runs with this officials structure.

Race Organizer
Chief administrator of the race event
Race Director
Presides over the event under federation rules
Race Steward
Governs each race stage on race day
Technical Steward
Inspects every car for rule compliance
Timing Steward
Records IN & OUT timings for every vehicle
Race Marshalls
Trackside officials in orange overalls
Jury
Appointed by the Federal Committee to settle protests — its verdict is final
